Raphael Yau is a Senior Associate in the Investment Division at Cushman & Wakefield Edmonton, specializing in multifamily and development land sales. With a robust background in investment advisory, Raphael brings extensive market knowledge and expertise to his role. Since joining the Cushman & Wakefield team in 2002, he has played a key role in facilitating the sale of over 3,500 units, totaling more than $300 million in transactions.
Prior to his time at Cushman & Wakefield, Raphael worked for RBC Royal Bank from 1996 to 2002 as an Investment & Retirement Planner in Edmonton. His experience as a Certified Financial Planner allowed him to conduct thorough market analysis and provide investment strategies to households and business investors. These skills have proven invaluable in his current role, where he continues to leverage his deep understanding of market dynamics to guide clients in the multifamily sector.
Raphael is also committed to community involvement, having actively supported fundraising efforts for organizations such as the United Way. Outside of work, he enjoys soccer, biking and travel. He values the opportunity to engage with people from all walks of life, believing that every interaction provides an opportunity to learn and grow.
A graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Raphael is fluent in both English and Cantonese (spoken). Since 2002, he has specialized in multifamily property sales, and since 2008, he has served on the Board of Directors for the Alberta Residential Landlord Association (ARLA). Raphael has been married to Tracey since 2001 and together they have two adult children.
Raphael joined the team at Cushman & Wakefield Edmonton in 2002 and has acquired much in-depth market expertise. Personally, Raphael has already sold over 3000 units (in excess of $250 million) in the time that he has been with Cushman & Wakefield Edmonton.
Since 1996, Raphael had worked for RBC Royal Bank, and as an Investment & Retirement Planner in Edmonton, until joining Cushman & Wakefield Edmonton in 2002. Previously as a Certified Financial Planner, Raphael had done extensive analysis and projections on the economic and market conditions and has utilized these skills toward recommending and implementing investment strategies to many households and business investors.
In the past, Raphael has enjoyed working in the community and has been an active fundraiser for the United Way organization and the SPCA. In his spare time he enjoys mountain biking, soccer and golf. “I really enjoy dealing with people from all aspects of life and I believe that you can learn something from every person you encounter.” His investment experience and relationship development skills complement the Multifamily Team.
