Mr. Mark McCann has had a distinguished career spanning over four decades in the commercial real estate industry. Since launching his career in 1984, Mr. McCann became a Senior Partner of Cushman & Wakefield Edmonton in 1994 and has been an integral part of the firm ever since. He currently serves on numerous Partner management committees that are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company.
Mr. McCann specializes in retail leasing, sales, dispositions, and site selection, where he has built an impressive reputation for his extensive industry knowledge and client-focused approach. Over the course of his career, he has developed strong, lasting relationships with many leading retailers, including Save-On-Foods, Shoppers Drug Mart, Rona, Dollarama, Fountain Tire, Dairy Queen and BarBurrito. Mr. McCann has also played a key role in numerous high-profile acquisitions and dispositions, such as the sale and redevelopment of Lakeside Landing (100,000 s.f. Sobey’s-anchored), the lease-up and disposition of Village Landing (100,000 s.f. Save-On-Foods-anchored), the assembly and lease-up of Wye Road Crossing (60-acre land assembly / 120,000 s.f. Rona-anchored), and the acquisition and lease-up of Manning Crossing (120,000 s.f. Safeway-anchored).
In addition to his professional expertise, Mr. McCann has been an active participant in minor sports, having coached, managed, and mentored athletes at various levels. He is also a dedicated member of the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC).
