Mr. McCann has been involved in all levels of minor sports inclusive of coaching, managing and mentoring. Mr. McCann is also an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centres. Mr. McCann launched his commercial real estate career in 1984 and is currently a Senior Partner of Cushman & Wakefield Edmonton having entered the Partnership in 1994. He currently sits on the firm’s three person Advisory Committee which is tasked with managing the day to day operations of the company. Mr. McCann specializes in the areas of retail leasing, sales, disposition and site selection. Over his 30 year career, Mr. McCann has developed strong relationships with many retailers who have counted on his knowledge and expertise including Save – On – Foods, Shoppers Drug Mart, Rona, Dollarama, Fountain Tire and Dairy Queen. Mr. McCann has also been involved in numerous acquisitions and dispositions including the sale and redevelopment of Lakeside Landing (100,000 s.f. Sobey’s anchored), the lease up and disposition of Village Landing (100,000 s.f. Save – On – Foods anchored), the assembly and lease up of Wye Road Crossing (60 acre land assembly / 120,000 s.f. Rona anchored) and the acquisition and lease up of Manning Crossing (120,000 s.f. Safeway anchored). Mr. McCann enjoys the long term relationships that he has been able to foster and enjoy. “The intimate nature of the Canadian retail shopping centre industry offers the opportunities to get know people over time.
